You have all heard about managing stress by going out for walks and relaxing with music. Maybe you have also started to eat more healthy and drink all the right juices … but you know there is still something more out there that will help you to bust those stress levels. Basically, we are trying to reduce the amount of cortisol that is produced which is linked with stress and make more serotonin which will relieve stress. The good news is that there are other simple ways that most people are not aware of but are still very efficient and healthy.

If you stay stressed, your muscles will be tense and pull things out of alignment. Then not only will you remain stressed you, but you’ll be in pain and in need of a chiropractic adjustment to put things back into place.

Get at Oil Massage

Most people associate oil massages with eastern methodology, but a massage is a very natural way to relax. You can take any kind of oil such as coconut, almond, castor and olive oil to give your scalp a thorough massage. You can also use it all over your body and concentrate on parts like the foot and back which take in a lot of stress. You can let the oil remain on your skin for an hour or so and then have a long relaxing hot bath.

Write About It

This is not about having a journal and writing down all your feelings. You can take any paper and write down anything that you want, even if it is only about saying how you feel or how tired you are of everything. You can then tear the paper in pieces so that no one else will know your secret inner thoughts. This is a great way to let things out and you can be as creative in your writing without offending anyone as no one is going to know about it.

Talk to a Friend

Sometimes it helps to vent, and not to their spouse, significant other or pet. Research shows when we have a circle of support (ie, friends to people with whom to share our thoughts), we have better outcomes in measures of happiness and health.

Talk to Yourself

It may sound silly, but talking to yourself is still a great way to get rid of stress. Tell yourself that you are doing great and that everything is going to be alright. There may be times when you just will not have time to reach for the phone or all your friends are busy in other parts of the world. So make a deal with yourself that the next time your feel stressed out, you will be easy on yourself and will tell yourself to relax.
